Reduction of air-pollution through installation of Mega Anti-Smog towers and other alternatives

Air-Pollution or Smog in Delhi-NCR is not a new problem. The notoriety of pollution in Delhi-NCR has put 14 cities under the top 20 most polluted cities in the world,
and most of them belong to Delhi-NCR with Ghaziabad topping the list followed by Noida and Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gurugram and Bagpat closely. In crux time of Diwali and The cutting down of Rabi Crops and burning of remains of crop stubble (Parali) together create a hysteria of Smog in the city that clocks upto 999 level in PM2.5 which is equivalent to smoking of 17 cigarette. It's quite obvious Particles in the PM2.5 size range are able to travel deeply into the respiratory tract, reaching the lungs.
Exposure to fine particles can cause short-term health effects such as eye, nose, throat and lung irritation, coughing, sneezing, runny nose and shortness of breath.
Exposure to fine particles can also affect lung function and worsen medical conditions such as asthma and heart disease. Scientific studies have linked increases in daily PM2.5 exposure with increased respiratory and cardiovascular hospital admissions, emergency department visits and deaths. Studies also suggest that long term exposure to fine particulate matter may be associated with increased rates of chronic bronchitis, reduced lung function and increased mortality from lung cancer and heart disease.
People with breathing and heart problems, children and the elderly may be particularly sensitive to PM2.5. On an approximate report, 1.2 million people lost thier life in one or other form from air pollution. Children having 6-12 years of age are found to be diagnosed with critical lung disease at this age people generally have no association of Cigarettes and Alcohol is possible in such case.

Most of the political parties no matter what dodge the issues because of the religious views attached to it. But in our note, We support and celebrate all festivals of the country.

We respect all the cultural diversity of India. On the greater note, Supreme court has already put several reforms in this direction like ban selling of crackers in Diwali and heavy fine levied on Parali (stubble) burning. All the responsible Ministers of 4 states namely Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh were called upon last year by the Supreme court of India for addressing the issue. Justice Arun Misra blamed it as the mockery of the system as one political party blamed each other for the issue instead of addressable. He quoted-'This cannot happen in civilized country, Right to Life is most important.' Neither farmers were fined for the stubble burning by any state. He further said-'Farmers couldn't kill others for their own livelihood.' But how to deal issue tactfully with diplomacy? Could banning the crackers doesn't resolved the problem? Doesn't it could be consider against the spirit of democracy?
By not letting them celebrate thier festivities.

Does Banning stubble altogether solve the issue? Cutting Parali costs around 7 thousand rupees per hectare and our rural agriculture machinery is not so well equipped to handle cost as they too drown in the debt of loan. Plus, the low air pressure and tides create the onus vacuum accumulate the dirt and resulted in the smog chamber. All the related figures and data are given below in the link for the reference. But the real problem is How to resolve this issue?

So, here are the few alternatives as creativity creates the pathway of constructive democracy.

1.Installation of Anti-Smog towers.

Recently, many countries like China and Netherlands that are coping with air pollution installed a mega anti-smog tower or Multiple smog towers in the critical zones of the city. Most of the polluted
Cities in India has no towers except one that is Delhi which is procured by Gautam Gambhir, A lok Sabha member of BJP with the help of traders association in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. According to reports,
this Giant air-purifier, could soak up to 80% pollution particulate matters of PM2.5 and PM10. The pilot projects were run by IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and University of Minnesota. The tower could purify
upto 250,000 to 600,000 Cubic air per day run with the help of electricity. The cost of these smog towers are 7 lakhs with an approximate maintenance of Rs 30,000. More and More towers are needed in all the critical zones of northern India. Look and working of these towers are present in the given links.

2. Conversion of the Parali waste into fiber.
One of the astonishing breakthrough is achieved by IIT-Delhi foundation start-up by Kriya-Labs. The whole stubble was first washed in washing machines and then burnt into a big-pressure cooker tank
which converted into fibers. This fibre is used to made several other things like polybags(an alternative to plastic bags), Foam for mattress, Pulp, Handicraft tableware, Packaging Solutions and
various art and craft materials.

3. Other uses of the stubble is use them in construction material, mix it with Bio-mass for Bio-mass energy.

We must join our hands in this noble cause and raise our voice and awareness instead of whichever ideologies we support in order to compel our respective governments to take action in order to provide
and fresh air to our younger generations, elders and various heart and neurosis patients.
